5 Point Plan for a Better Mount Laurel

      1. Make fiscal responsibility a priority by reining in wasteful spending, increasing government accountability and developing real financial benchmarks.

      2. Implement an open, proactive government dedicated not to just maintaining the status quo, but to improving it.

      3. Develop a first class parks and recreation program that meets the needs of our growing community.

      4. Enhance our police department by providing law enforcement with the resources they need to fight rising crime rates.

      5. Improve Township services so that we can all receive a fair return on the taxes we pay.

N.J. Democrats hope to extend gains

With Democratic victories forecast in New Jersey in the presidential and U.S. Senate races, party leaders hope to make gains farther down the ballot.

Burlco contractors back GOP by backing loans

Insurance company Anderson Jackson Metts last year wrote two checks to the Burlington County Republican Committee totaling $37,000, the maximum allowed under state election law.

Then, in the midst of a fiercely competitive campaign season, company president Tony Mahon joined 19 others guaranteeing $15,000 each on one large bank loan taken out by the Republican organization.

Democrats' video hits GOP on campaign funding

The Burlington County Democratic Party attacked the county Republican Party yesterday, saying it funds campaigns through a group of politically connected individuals with taxpayer-funded jobs.

The attack came in the form of a nine-minute video that outlined 20 individuals who hold or have held government jobs or contracts and who have also made contributions to the GOP.
